The Federation of Hays County Women Philanthropy
One of the main goals of the FHCW is to give back to the organizations
throughout the various communities in Hays County with philanthropic
activities. During the year we designate particular meetings for this
endeavor. So far we have contributed time and monetary gifts to both
Hays Food Bank, Hands of Hope and Dell's Children’s Medical Center.
In April of 2012 the Federation of Hays County Women donated $300
to support the work of Hands of Hope.

Hands of Hope provides women in need with the education, skills and
support to be self-sufficient. In a Christian setting, the participants
learn academic skills, job readiness, and time and money management
to equip them for better employment opportunities. Hands of Hope is
sponsored by the First Baptist Church of San Marcos, with support
from area churches and individuals. The classes are tuition-free to
the students and we are staffed entirely by volunteers.
“The mission of Hands of Hope is close to our hearts,” states current
FHCW President, Johnell Huebner, “It’s an organization of women helping
women that supports personal growth and development.”
Twice a year the Federation of Hays County Women spends time with
a “hands on” volunteer project and participates in other philanthropic
activities throughout the year, such as food drives, clothing drives
and scholarships.
